Austin at Kentucky HOBY

Last week we took Austin to Eastern Kentucky University (EKU)
where he participated as his schools' representative in the
Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership Seminar for rising high school juniors.
EKU is located just 14 miles north in Richmond, KY
on a beautiful campus.
Communication from the students was discouraged.
I received a tiny text message here and there, and only
after I "pestered" him with questions.
Of course he had a blast!
He made new friends, learned about being a good leader in his community,
school, and church.  And, participated in a half-day service project.
The 250 attending students were from 120 counties
around Kentucky.  Below is one of his new friends.
Austin is off to another camp this week,
I will post about that experience after we pick him up on Friday.

I'm so glad Austin had this experience, and I know he makes you and your community proud every day! I'm staying tuned to his rise so I can be a part of his presidential campaign team one day. :)

I know someone who was a HOBY participant several years ago here - it was a great experience for him and I'm sure Austin is a present and future leader!
