Day 2 - Philadelphia

We began our day on Thursday, July 9, touring at the Independence Visitor Center then
on to Independence National Historical Park
where we had a guided tour by a Park Ranger.
Admission is free, but tickets are required from the Visitor Center.
The tour began in the East Wing of Independence Hall
and continues through the impressive historic building where
the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution were debated and signed.

The Liberty Bell is in a display area across from Independence Hall.
Displays of artifacts at the Independence Visitor Center

A hop on/hop off bus tour with various stops
including the Betsy Ross House.
Lunch at Hard Rock Cafe (another first for Peyton)
A a little shopping at the Reading Terminal Market
This was an awesome place, originally opened as a famer's market in 1892.
There are over 100 merchants located in the market today.
The guys found lots of fudge and candy. I couldn't pass up the Tea Leaf.
After sampling the iced tea flavors of the day, Austin and I selected the Berry Green,
a very refreshing iced tea, perfect for a hot and humid afternoon.

Maggiano's Italian Restaurant was listed on the Find Me Gluten Free App,
so that's where we went for a late dinner.

I spent about 3 hours in Philly a few years back, on the way home from a conference. Did get to see the Liberty Bell at least. I'd love to spend more time there. So much history!

What a wonderful trip for you all, but especially for Peyton. He is a lucky little boy.
