Lunch Stop in Doolin and on to Ballyvaughan

We stopped for lunch in Doolin, four miles north of the Cliffs of Moher.
Our lunch was grilled chicken and mash (mashed potatoes and carrots)
Doolin is reputed to have three of the best pubs for traditional music in Ireland,
McDermott's , McGann's and Oconner's
Every place we ate had two daily specials including one vegetarian.
Ferries make round trips from Doolin to the Aran Islands ,weather permitting.
We turned to the east and drove through Lisdoonvarra
and into the rocky landscape of the Burren.
You may need to enlarge these photos to see the rocky Burren
on the side and the Galway Bay in the background.

Absolutely stunning photos, Linda!

How would it feel, do you think, no matter what your station in life, or job you had, or where you lived, if you could look at that vista EVERY DAY and rejoice and take it into your heart and bones, and then to know you could go to a pub with THAT MUSIC to surround you every night if you wanted?

What an idea to contemplate.

". . . and watch the sun go down on Galway Bay" is whirling through my head right now.

Beautiful scenery! I had to smile at the "Southern fried" chicken on the menu, though.
