Boone Tavern Hotel Christmas Afternoon Tea

Historic Boone Tavern Hotel hosted their third annual
Christmas Afternoon Tea on Saturday.
The hotel was decorated for the season, and Christmas music
was being played on the piano in the lobby as the 55 guests gathered.
Our family and our long-time friend and neighbor, Mary K
enjoyed a delightful menu developed by Chef David.
Southern Spoonbread is a Boone Tavern Tradition.
Below: Spoonbread Bite
The savories were served plated and included
Christmas Tree Sandwich
Tomato, Olive and Montrachet Tart
Roast Beef and Stilton Potato Cakes
Shrimp and Spinach Quiche
Cranberry Chicken Salad with Apricot Chutney
Note: I took this photo while the plates were being prepped,
it is without the edible flower garnish in the center.
After the savories, the three tier server was brought to the table
with the Scones and Sweets
Red Velvet Poinsettia Cup Cakes
Lemon Mousse Phyllo Cups
Chocolate Covered Strawberries
Maple Walnut Scones with Cinnamon Glaze
Devonshire Cream, Butter and Jams
Macadamia Sugar Cookies
Mini Raspberry Cheesecakes

Melissa and Peyton
Glenn and me
Austin and Mary K.
The teas served were from Elmwood Inn Fine Teas:
Christmas in a Cup
Boone Tavern Blend
Organic English Breakfast Decaf
Strawberry Kiwi
It was a very fun and festive event.
I was very pleased, and proud to be the Tea Consultant for the hotel.

(next post: gluten free afternoon tea)

Someday, someday - I am attending one of these Kentucky Teas at Boone's Tavern. They always look so amazing and so elegant! It is on my list. A weekend in Berea!

This brings back fond memories of my own Boone Tavern tea, and especially that delicious Spoon Bread!
