Spring Break 2015 - Lucerne (Luzern)

This is our Berea Community High School group
at the Lion Monument in Lucerne.
We found a tea room very conveniently located in Old Town Lucerne.
Mango sorbet (gluten free) for me,  and Glenn
enjoyed a pastry. The  "English speaking" server had
a little difficulty understanding us.  His "tea" was decaf coffee.

I chose the Ceylon Prince Charles loose leaf tea from the menu.

Our two days in Lucerne ranks in my top favorites of the trip.

Macarons at MeDonald's
No joke!  McDonald's had a fabulous pastry counter.
and, according to Glenn,  the best McDonald's Cheeseburger and fries ever!
(OK, he was a little tired of the local food at this point).

We were in Lucerne for two days of touring.
We returned to the Tea Room on our 2nd day,
I found a Tea House in the area, but it was closed. .

We walked to the very busy train station both days
we were in Lucerne.  A couple of interesting photos:
The public restroom was for men and women.
You drop a 2 Euro coin in the slot and the glass gate
quickly opens and closes.  There is an attendant cleaning.
If you look closely, you can see small lights next to the door,
very much like miniature traffic lights.
When you go in the "stall" and lock the door a red light comes on.
When you come out, a yellow light comes on.
The attendant goes in and cleans and turns on the green light.
Was it worth 2 American dollars to use the restroom?
All public restrooms are pay (at least .50 Euros).
This one was very modern and clean!
We went in a very busy grocery store in the train station.
These macarons were in the cooler.
Macarons were everywhere!
