You Know You Are in Derby City When...

Kentucky Derby hats are for sale in the hotel gift shop.
While in Louisville (Loo a vull) last week, we stayed overnight
at The Brown Hotel, home of the famous Kentucky Hot Brown.
We enjoyed a lovely dinner in the English Grill (main dining room)
Austin wanted me to take a photo of him eating the Hot Brown.
I got a good one, don't you agree?
The recipe is at this link
Chances are if you visit Louisville, you will want to buy a
piece of Louisville Stoneware.  The mugs are very popular.
The above is their Hot Brown Baking Dish.

I love seeing the hats! Derby Day is coming soon. That hot brown looks delicious, too.

Fun visit to Louisville! One of these days I'm going to try making 'Hot Brown." I'll never forget the wonderful Kentucky Derby tea at Boone Tavern Hotel. Love the picture of the Derby hats in the hotel gift shop. May 7th will soon be here!
