June Afternoon Tea at Greentree Tearoom

Rose Jory, a member of Afternoon Tea Across America, from Virginia contacted me
a few weeks ago and said she would be in Lexington at a meeting with her husband.
We made arrangements to have Luncheon Tea  at Greentree Tearoom on Wednesday.
Greentree is a reservation only tearoom and served Wednesday - Saturday.
I have blogged about this lovely tearoom many times, but this was only my second time
to visit Greentree Tearoom after going gluten free.
The menu and tea changes monthly.
Below is the June 2016 menu.
Rose enjoyed the menu above, while my luncheon tea was gluten free.
The first course was a chilled cucumber soup.
The second course was a warm cherry scone served with cherry curd
and Fayette Cream (mock Devonshire).  Lexington is in Fayette County.
My gluten free "scone" was more the texture of a muffin, and delicious!
Tropical Chicken Salad was served plated.
The tea was Ceylon served from silver pots by the excellent staff
who kept our cups full.
The next two courses served at Greentree Tea Room
are  on the round buffet table in the center dining room.
In place of the sandwiches, I was served the White Pimiento Cheese,
Cucumber Slices and Gluten Free Crackers garnished with asparagus and grapes.
I served myself the Tomato Aspic and Strawberry Mousse from the buffet.
The Luncheon Tea experience at Greentree Tearoom is always
pleasant and delicious.
I enjoyed visiting with Rose.
She and I had met a few years ago at Nancy Reppert's
Sweet Remembrances Tea Room in Mechanicsburg, Pa.

So great that you two could connect again in Lexington. The Greentree Tearoom is just as beautiful as I remember it to be! You both look great!

Another tea room in Northern KY? I can't wait until our next trip. The menu sounds delicious and what a wonderful gluten free option.

It's always special to enjoy teatime with another tea friend. The Greentree Tearoom looks like a lovely place to do just that.

Loved seeing a longtime tea friend meet up with someone I've seen on the ATAA group!
