Fall Break Week 2016

While Glenn and Austin continued college visits last week,
I drove to N. KY and attended Peyton's Thursday evening band concert
and Grandparent's Day on Friday at his school.

Kaitlyn rode back to Berea with me, because she spent fall break week
being pampered by her Aunt Melissa while Peyton was in school.
I think it was a "win-win" week for all.

Austin above, at Transylvania University in Lexington on Wednesday
and below, at Centre College in Danville on Friday.
Tuesday's visit was at Bellarmine University in Louisville,
and Thursday's at Asbury University in Wilmore.
He has decided (at least for now) to stay in Kentucky.
Eastern Kentucky University is also still on the list.
He has the schools ranked one through five.
He had a great week of visiting with the business and theater departments at all,
and observed a variety of classes.

What a lovely time all around for your sweet family! All those school and college visits and meetings and decisions---such a busy, happy time in the young folks' lives, and we just smile and share.

We had our own little Grandparents' evening at Sweetpea's school a couple of weeks ago, and she was so proud and gracious, showing us every station and section and area of her classroom and school. It was especially fun and sweet this time, for the students each had a questionnaire to "interview" one grandparent. We chose her Mammaw, who grew up here in Indiana, to answer the "get to know you" questions about the younger days and school life, and it was a fun, happy half hour as we all just sat in our little family cocoon i a quiet corner, listening and commenting and enjoying all the banter about the "old" days. And it's always lovely to learn more about people so tied to you by someone you both love.

What a great time of family and fun! And I continue to be amazed that I feel I have gotten to watch all these "children" (some of whom are now young adults) grow up through the joys of your blog!
