Christmas Afternoon Tea at Historic Boone Tavern Hotel

I am very pleased I was able to assist with the fourth annual Christmas Afternoon Tea
at Historic Boone Tavern Hotel on Saturday, December 10, 2016.
The event was sold out with 76 advance reservations
Starting with Kaitlyn, Austin, Peyton, Melissa, me, Mrs. Henderson (our
91 year-old neighbor), Glenn and Tim.
Our family has celebrated with a Christmas Afternoon Tea since before Austin was born.
The dining room was beautifully decorated for the season.
A spoon of Boone Tavern's famous spoonbread was served first. Sorry, no photo.
Then the sandwiches and savories were served plated.
The "spoon" was edible.  I was told it tasted like a cracker.
Below:  The gluten free version of the savories.
The scones and desserts were served on the three-tier server.
Below is the delicious gluten free version.
I was seated on the opposite side of the table from the gluten-full
version and forgot to take a photo. Their cookies were different and
they had mini cheese cakes.  The pastry chef kindly gave Melissa, Austin and I
doubles on all the gluten free sweets.
It was a very special event for our family.
I missed this photo op because I was in the Dining Room
helping with preparations.

A wonderful family tradition.
The savories look so interesting and delicious. How fun that they are still serving a spoonful of their spoon bread.

How fun to be a part of planning this special tea event. Even more special to see your family having tea during Christmas season and celebrating together all these years.
