Christmas Vacation - Visiting The Biltmore Estate

Our after Christmas break included an overnight at the Inn on the Biltmore Estate
and a Christmas Candlelight Tour of the Biltmore House.
This amazing gingerbread creation and a beautiful Christmas Tree
were only a few of the beautiful decorations in the Inn.
This is a replica of the Inn. The front of the Inn is above, and the back is below.

The aroma was delightful.  Every time I walked through the lobby,
I stopped to admire the gingerbread creation and saw candy I hadn't noticed before.
The panels on the truck and parts of the roof were made with Hershey Bars.

The snow on the Gingerbread Inn was "wishful thinking."
The warmer than normal temperatures and sunshine added to our fun visit.
The location of the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina
in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains was a perfect vacation
for George and Edith Vanderbilt and their friends and family.

Of course visitors are not allowed to take photos of the inside of the
Biltmore House.  This was Glenn and Austin's first time to visit during
the Christmas Candlelight Tour.  There were various musical groups
throughout the house and hundreds of Christmas trees.
Below: the tree in the lobby of the hotel.
I called too late to make afternoon tea reservations (3 weeks before).
As result we had lunch in the Library Lounge.  My guys enjoyed
having more savories at lunch and less sweets, as compared to afternoon tea.

Attention friends who enjoy visiting the Biltmore Estate as much as I do.
Remember the Downton Abbey costume display at the house in 2015?
The next event, February 12 - July 4, 2016 will be:

A couple of these award-winning gowns were on display with the above sign.
