A Family Visit to Cumberland Falls

Peyton came to visit on Monday, July 11th.
While he was here, I cooked some of his favorite foods, went to Lexington
to run errands, and out to eat at P.F.Chang's,
I drove the "scenic" route across the Kentucky River on the one-lane bridge.
The family swam in the pool, enjoyed the hot tub, and played games all week.
Austin took the kids out for milkshakes and to the local fudge shop.
And, we all drove to Cumberland Falls State Resort Park in southeastern KY near Corbin..
The Cumberland River was muddy due to several recent strong storms in the area.
It was Peyton's fist visit to the scenic Cumberland Falls, known as the
"Niagara of the South."  The falls has been a popular tourist attraction since the 1870's,
it is 65 feet high and 125 feet wide. It is very famous for its moonbow.
A moonbow is like a rainbow in the mist of the falls, only seen on nights
with a full moon and clear skies.

It was a very hot and humid July day, but it was a great family outing.
