Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I have thoroughly enjoyed seeing photos and videos of families
and friends on Facebook and other social media places opening gifts,
sharing special meals and enjoying Christmas celebrations together.

Happy New Year from our family to yours!

My Christmas Tea Cart

This is one of my three tea carts, and as you can see it's decorated for Christmas.
The Rosina Queen's Yultide pattern trios are my favorite to use for Christmas Tea.
I have collected eight trios and a tea set a few pieces at a time.
I found the teapot earlier this month at a wonderful price.
The trios on the three-tiered stand are assorted Christmas trios I've previously
featured on the blog.
The tea cart sits below a collection of photos from Austin's
first trip to England in 2002 when he celebrated his third birthday.

Afternoon Tea for Seventy-Five

It takes a team to serve afternoon tea to seventy-five guests at the same seating time.
The savories/sandwiches are served plated.
Scones and desserts are served on the three-tiered servers
Below:  Aaron, the dining room manager answering questions
from a few of the new servers.  Aaron and I conducted a training the day before.
These gals were a bit nervous.
I told them to think of it as playing tea party like they
did when they were little girls. They enjoyed the event and had fun!
The "sold-out" information on the website.
The event was held in the main dining room of Historic Boone Tavern Hotel.

I thought you might want to see this table of friends at Boone Tavern Tea.
This table was hosted by Wanda L. my longtime friend and DAR sister.

Historic Boone Tavern Hotel's Fifth Annual Christmas Tea

Our family celebrated our annual Christmas Tea on Saturday, December 9th
at Historic Boone Tavern Hotel's fifth annual Christmas Tea.

Click on the above photo to see the delicious menu.
Melissa, Austin and I must eat gluten free for health reasons.
We are so happy the chefs prepare a beautiful GF menu.
The sandwiches/savories are served plated.
A serving of Boone Tavern's famous spoonbread on the left
of the savories plate.  In addition, all guests were served a complimentary
glass of champagne or sparkling cider.
After the first course, three tiered servers are brought to
the tables with the scones on the bottom tier
and sweets/desserts on the next two tiers.

What a delightful and special event!

Christmas Time's a-Coming

"Come to my Table and Share with me Warm Gingerbread Cookies and Cinnamon Tea"

Featuring my first Christmas teapot of the season,
a Spode Christmas Tree Teapot with the Candy Stripe Handle

The delightful sign on the table was a gift from a blog reader a couple of years ago.
I began blogging in January 2008.  I've said many, many times since then, the
friendships I've developed through blogging have been a most wonderful
unexpected bonus!  I've been so fortunate to communicate with many of you
in person,  through Facebook and email.
Life's journey has interfered with my daily, even weekly, blog posts,
but I just want y'all to know how much I appreciate everyone who stops
by, and especially all who make comments.

Just FYI, Austin loves Transylvania University in Lexington, KY.
Fortunately for us, he is just 45 minutes from home. *wink*
