Normandy American Cemetery and Omaha Beach - Spring Break 2017

The American Flag flies over land granted to the USA by France for
the memorial cemetery for troops who died in Europe during WWII.

The first cemetery was established near this site on June 8, 1944 overlooking Omaha Beach at Collerville - sur-Mer, Normandy, France.

On to Omaha Beach
It is amazing what the surviving U.S. troops (and allies) had to endure to move
enter France, and continue fighting until late July, 1944
Cliffs and then bombed out craters.
Through time, grass has grown in the craters.
