Derry and Grianan a Aileach

Overnight in Londonderry, known as Derry to the locals
at the Bishop's Gate Hotel
Tea making equipment and the "air conditioner" aka fan
is in the closet.  FYI - there are very few hotels with air conditioning in Ireland.

We awoke to rain on Wednesday morning, June 13th.
After breakfast we walked down the street and found
several gluten free snacks to purchase at a bakery.
These snacks lasted several days!

The drizzling rain continued.
We stopped to see the unusual Grianan an Aileach, an ancient
three tiered stone fort with amazing views.

A brief stop at nearby St Aengus Church, a unique round building,
voted the building of the 21st century in Ireland

More beautiful scenery, and I love the picture of the inside of the church with all the pretty stained glass around the top of the wall. Unusual placement, and quite lovely!
