Seattle to Victoria and Afternoon Tea at The Empress

Bright and early on Tuesday, August 7, we boarded the Seattle Clipper
for a nearly three-hour cruise to Victoria, B.C.
(Perhaps a little too early for Austin)
We stayed for two nights at The Fairmont Empress

And, enjoyed the famous Empress Afternoon Tea
Below:  The teapots are ready!
The selection of loose leaf tea below.
The Empress signature china.

We had afternoon tea at The Empress when Austin was four years old, but
he doesen't remember that experience.  I'm sure he will remember this time.

Seattle Day 2

Apparently I took very few photos in Seattle.
The view in the top photo was from the Space Needle.
I have to admit, I was not wild about the new revolving glass floor
where the original restaurant was located.
The Chihuly Garden and Glass is just below and beside
the Space Needle.  The glass are is located in the Garden the Glasshouse and
the Interior exhibits.
The glass art was amazing!

FYI:  For those of us who live in the eastern USA,
there is a Chihuly exhibit currently at The Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC.

Seattle Day 1

We traveled for six nights in early August to the northwest.
Our first stop was Seattle.  The first day we took the hop-on
hop-off bus and stopped at the Pike Market.  This was Austin's first visit in Seattle.
There are always exciting and interesting things happening at the market

See the previous post.

Last Day In Ireland and Giveaway

After an overnight at Mt. Juliet, we visited the lovely village of
Thomastown and took photos in and around a small park at the bridge
used in the movie P.S. I Love You.

The community herb garden in raised beds, below.

We continued on to Kilkenny Castle.
The three of us chose to skip the castle tour and explore in Kilkenny.
We found the Fig Tree for our last tea room visit in Ireland.

On to our lunch stop and guided tour of the Irish National Stud
before going to the airport hotel.

Lunch at the Irish National Stud included this gluten free treat and a nice cup of tea.
And then an early flight home on Sunday morning, June 24.
Of course, I had many more photos than I could share on the blog.
Now, for the promised giveaway.
Leave your comment on this post and a way to contact you
by Sunday night, August 26 at 9:00 pm,
and your name will go into a drawing for an Irish souvenir.
